I know I've seen the answer to this in one of the other topics, but I can't remember the name of the custom snare drum (not the Gretsch)that Vinnie uses. I think it began with an "L".
Can anyone hook me up with the name and if they have a website?
    Thanks in advance.

The drums you are refering to are called LONGO. But as some on this board would have believed, they are not used by Vinnie that much. The majority of gigs Vinnie does, he uses a 5x14 COB Gretsch. Era late 50's early 60's. The Chaka Khan dvd he uses this drum, most of the pictures of Vinnie from the Potato gig show this drum also. In the new Ziljian video he is using a 5x14 wood Gretsch.

I think that it is safe to say that Vinnie most likely has a collection of snares that he picks and chooses to use in all kinds of situations. I think that it also safe to say that Vinnie has to politically appease his endorsers when he is playing on gigs that are going to be aired on TV or say a clinic where pictures will be taken and used in magazines. Saying this, Vinnie is most seen playing his Gretsch snares along with his Gretsch drum sets, which he has a few different ones. I have spoke with Vinnie in detail about his use of snares, and what he gravitates to as far as snares in the studio. He said that he uses all kinds of snares, but one of his favorite snares is his Longo Custom, which he has used in the studio about 250-300 times! So regardless of what we see in pictures or on TV, at the end of the day we can all speculate on what he uses the most, but this is a direct quote from the mouth of Vinnie Colaiuta. I have seen Vinnie at the Baked Potato 5 or 6 time and every time, whether or not he uses it, he always brings his Longo snare with him!
